Birth records are available at the town/city hall where the child was born, at the town/city hall where the mother was living at the time of the birth, and in Augusta at the Bureau of Vital Statistics.

Certified copies of birth certificates can be issued to the child or the child’s parents. The fee is $15 for the first copy, and $6 for each additional copy of the same record.

Birth records can be requested by mail by providing an application, positive identification including, but not limited to, a driver's license, passport, or other government issued picture identification. Should you not have direct and legitimate interest in the birth record, you must complete the Release of Vital Records Application. Send your application and identification along with a check payable to the City of Waterville and a self addressed stamped envelope to:
