The City provides rubbish pick-up service to its residents. Water service is provided by the Kennebec Water District (KWD), sewer service is provided by the Waterville Sewerage District (353 Water Street; (207) 873-5191). Electrical service is provided through Central Maine Power (CMP). The residential telephone service providers for Waterville are: Fairpoint Communications and Time Warner Cable. City Hall is located in the center of the City of Waterville next to Castonguay Square. This majestic building was built in 1902 and houses the Mayor’s office, city departments, and police station. On the second floor is the famous Waterville Opera House which has a seating capacity of 1,000. This building has been designated a national historic site.
