General Information

Waterville is a city in Kennebec County, Maine (United States) on the west bank of the Kennebec River. Waterville has a population of over 15,600; 6,218 households, and 3,370 families residing in the City (2000 Census).  The City has a total area of 14.1 square miles.  Waterville was designated as a Main Street Maine community in 2001 by the Maine Downtown Center and is accredited annually by the National Main Street Center, which is a program of the National Trust for Historic Preservation. The Waterville Main Street organization advances efforts to develop the Downtown Waterville area into a thriving, energetic, commercial, social, cultural and entertainment destination.
