The City of Waterville Charter Commission consists of seven members who are elected by ward, and three at-large members who are appointed by the municipal officers. State law dictates that the Commission must hold a Public Hearing to receive information, views and comments on the City Charter. After consideration, the Commission can decide to propose an entirely new Charter, some slight amendments to the Charter, or no changes at all. Any proposed changes to the City Charter must be sent to the voters at the City’s next regularly scheduled election. Unless an extension is requested, the Commission’s work must be completed within 12 months.
Meetings will be posted below with agendas included as they are drafted.
