Birth Certificate Information

Birth records are available at the town/city hall where the child was born, at the town/city hall where the mother was living at the time of the birth, and in Augusta at the Bureau of Vital Statistics.

Certified copies of birth certificates can be issued to the child or the child’s parents. The fee is $10 for the first copy, and $5 for each additional copy of the same record.

Birth records can be requested in writing through the mail by indicating the child’s full birth name, date of birth, and parents full name(s). Send your request, along with a check payable to the City of Waterville and a self addressed stamped envelope to:

Your request will be processed the same day it is received.

The City of Waterville does not accept credit cards or online orders; however, for your convenience, you can process online requests through an independent company that we have partnered with to provide you this service; VitalChek Network, Inc.
