City of Waterville Boards and Committees
Thank you for your interest in serving on one of the City's boards/committees!
In August 2013, the City Council approved an amendment to the City’s Administrative Ordinance, to streamline the committee appointment process, as well as promote available civic opportunities within our community. As a result of this amendment, all board and committee terms will now end on December 31st of the year in which they are due to expire.
Also, while we are still collecting applications throughout the year, they will now be reviewed by the Mayor all at once at the end of the year. Any applications received will be kept on file until that time.
After reviewing all applications, the Mayor may schedule brief interviews with each interested applicant. Recommendations for appointments will then be made to the City Council. Once an appointment is approved by the Council the applicant must be sworn in by the City Clerk to become an active board/committee member.
*PLEASE NOTE: Elected positions are exempt from this process as they must be included on the election ballot and are not appointed by the Mayor and City Council. We include them here for informational purposes only.
