Head of Falls Planning Committee Purpose and Members

PURPOSE

The development of the City’s waterfront along the Kennebec River, an area known as Head of Falls, is one of the most important issues facing the City in the next 1-3 years.  This is a location with potential for commercial/residential growth and public space opportunities.

Because of its enormous potential, decisions regarding highest and best uses cannot be made in a haphazard way.

The formation of this Planning Committee will provide the City with a core group that can study issues and/or proposals in depth and make recommendations appropriately.  The Committee will report both to the Waterville Development Corporation and to the City Council and will serve as a “standing” committee to provide leadership and continuity going forward.
