Energy Team
The Energy Team is working on several projects in the following four areas: renewable energy and conservation; community wind; renewable energy district; municipal energy use.

- Residential Renewable Energy & Conservation: Currently formualting a strategy to increase energy efficiency and renewable energy in the residential sector. Also creating a common base of knowledge and understanding of available programs and resources, such as USDA Rural Development, Efficiency Maine, KVCAP, and MaineHousing.
- Community Wind: Currently monitoring state wind policy and completing an evaluation of the wind resource in the region.
- Renewable District Energy: Currently evaluating the feasability of a Community District Energy project for Mid-Maine.
- Municipal Energy Use: Working toward advising municipalities on how to cut energy costs.
The Renewable Energy & Conservation Project Team put on a workshop about State Energy Progams for Residential Buildings was held on June 23. For more information about what was discussed click here.
The Renewable District Energy Project Team held a workshop on July 16 in the Oak Foundation GIS Lab at Colby College. Sustain Mid Maine summer interns reviewed GIS capabilities for the district energy project.
