Purnell Wrigley Field – Break In

During the evening of Monday, April 10th there was a break in of the press box and contractor’s trailer at Purnell Wrigley Field, which is currently undergoing renovations in preparation for the upcoming Waterville Cal Ripken Baseball season. Many pieces of equipment required to complete this project were stolen, including power tools of the contractors working on site and the new PA System.

It is disappointing that someone would target this great community project for personal gain, and we are asking for the support of the community to help resolve this situation. If you should have information regarding the individual(s) who committed this crime, we ask that you report this information to  the Waterville Police Department at 207-680-4700.

From the outset, the Purnell Wrigley Field project has been a community effort and significant collaboration between the Alfond Youth Center, Waterville Parks & Recreation, Waterville Public Works, and many other community partners. With the support of the community, this field will be an amazing facility for youth in the community to experience for years to come! If you would like to get involved in this project, please give us a call at 207-873-0684.
