Paving Updates from Public Works
- The Maine Department of Transportation will begin the Upper Main Street project this Sunday night. Lane Construction Corporation of Bangor will be doing mill and fill grinding of existing pavement from Sanger Avenue north to the Elm Plaza. Grading work will follow. The area from Elm Plaza to Waterville Commons will be a shim and overlay. Work will continue towards I-95 and through Fairfield Center to the Middle Road (Route #104). Most of the local work, including paving, will be performed overnight during the next several weeks.
- City projects will also be getting underway next week with grinding and reclaim of pavement surfaces being performed on Country Way, Gilman Street, Hazelwood Avenue and Mountain Farm Road. The contractor for this work is Vaughn Thibodeau and Sons, Inc. of Winterport. Gilman Street and Hazelwood Avenue are being done in partnership with the MDOT. Sidewalk improvements will also be made on both roads.
- Later this month, Vaughn Thibodeau and Sons will be doing shim and overlay paving of Crommett Street, Lawrence Street, Pearl Street and Squire Street.
