Project Update - November 8, 2024
Construction Ongoing
The North Street Recreation Area parking lot will be closed temporarily beginning Friday, November 8th, 2024, for construction. The playground and pavilions will remain open, and street parking is available. Updates will be provided on the anticipated reopening date. We thank you for your cooperation as we work to improve your experience.
Project Update - August 2, 2024
New Building
Progress is coming along well with our new 24’x36’ restroom/storage/concession building. Water, sewer, and electrical lines have all been roughed in. Crews are currently working on the interior. Kennebec roofing has been contracted to install the roof late summer, early fall. When complete, the building will be home to Waterville Youth Soccer Program and Waterville Tennis. Men’s and women’s bathrooms will be open to the public seasonally. The project is currently on budget.
Picnic Shelters
When the new building is complete, crews will move to rebuild our (2) picnic shelters. Renovations will include new concrete floors, support posts, roof, and picnic tables. We aim to have the shelters completed this fall.
Playground
O’Brien and Sons has tentatively scheduled week of September 2nd to begin installing playground expansion.
Parking Lot
Playground and tennis lots scheduled to be paved late summer, early fall.
New Fencing/Site Furnishings
Expected to be added in Spring/Summer 2025.
